Les anglicismes et leurs équivalents français dans le domaine de l’éducation : entre rivalité et enjeux dans l’évolution linguistique

Cet article porte sur la rivalité entre les deux langues qui dominent la communication internationale : l’anglais et le français. Nous souhaitons d’abord décrire la dominance du français sur la scène mondiale et son statut de langue d’emprunt. Ensuite, nous étudierons la reconquête de l’anglais et son statut de lingua franca dans la communication internationale. L’objectif principal de notre texte est d’étudier dans quelle mesure le français est capable de résister à la dominance anglophone. Concrètement, nous analyserons les termes anglais présents dans la base de données FranceTerme et ayant un équivalent français. Nous nous intéresserons plus particulièrement au domaine de l’éducation, actuellement envahi par les anglicismes (par exemple : apprentissage adaptatif, apprentissage mixte, petits cours particuliers). À partir des corpus SketchEngine et Aranea, nous analyserons la capacité des équivalents français à substituer les emprunts lexicaux à l’anglais.

This article focuses on the rivalry between the two languages that dominating international communication, namelyEnglish and French. Firstly, we want to describe the dominance of the French language on the world stage and itsstatus as a borrowing language. Secondly, we want to study the resumption of power by English and its status asa lingua franca in international communication. The main objective of our text is to study to what extent the Frenchlanguage is able to resist the Anglophone predominance. Concretely, we want to analyze the English terms that arepresent in the FranceTerme database and have a French counterpart. We want to focus our attention in particularon the field of education, which is currently invaded by anglicisms (e.g. adaptive learning, blended learning, small private classes). Using the SkecthEngine and Aranea corpora, we intend to analyze the ability of French equivalents tosubstitute loan-words from English.
