Act No 561 Coll. of 2004 on pre-school, elementary, higher trade and other education (the Education Act) introduced several changes in the area of the education of children prior to the commencement of mandatory school attendance. These changes mainly concern the nature of the institutions designated for the education of children of the respective age - pre-schools. The law addresses changes in the educational model, the curriculum for children in the pre-school age, the process for educating children,the method for planning the education of children attending state pre-schools and the evaluation of education results.
