Attitudinal Constructs of Primary School Teachers Towards Pupils from Socially Excluded Localities in the Czech Republic
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The text is about attitudinal constructs of primary school teachers to pupils from socially excluded localities in the Czech Republic. According to the national sociological analysis from 2015 there are more than 600 socially excluded localities in the Czech Republic, where about 120 000 people live. The socially excluded environment determines pupils in many ways of life, e.g. in social, emotional, physical, cognitive and others. The empirical research we did this year is about the attitudes of teachers towards them. The research was aimed to teachers? attitude, especially cognitive, emotional and behavioural attitudinal constructs. The results have brought interesting findings for theory and practice of education and teaching. Many teachers think that if some pupils come from socially excluded localities, they might have mental disability, although they do not have it. However, the teacher speaks to them and teaches them like they were mentally handicapped.
