Vibrations by moving trains: Case study
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Carriage by rail still keeps its significant position on the traffic market although the development of road transport is very high. It is possible to expect an increase in importance of rail transport from the viewpoint of reducing environmental load, power saving, reliability and safety. Vibration by moving trains might be expected to increase and may also be more frequent. These induced vibrations, which are a kind of technical seismicity, may have a negative impact on surroundings of railway lines. This paper presents some results of short-term experimental seismological measurements in nearby zone of railroad lines. Maximum velocity values of vibrations were evaluated for distances up to 15 m. Frequency range of measured data was from 2 - 200 Hz, sampling frequency of digital records was up to 500 Hz. Three-component sensors were used with transversal and radial directions of horizontal components; the third component recorded a vertical movement. Local sub-surface geology and pattern of railway lines were taken into account. Presented case study was performed in the town of Ostrava-Poruba, which is an important railway from Moravia to Poland and Slovakia.
