The process of globalisation has become the subject of everyday attention. There is a wide consensus that it increases risks and opportunities for both individuals and communities. The paper presents close (inter)connectedness of the issues of identity and globalisation. It is argued that the population yields to the intensity, quantity and complexity of social, economic, cultural and other factors and relations in daily reality since human senses were not constructed to perceive so great a number of stimuli from the environment. Global processes alter our perception of time and space. Subsequently, human identities and behaviour are affected in an unprecedented way. The main purpose of this paper is to clarify some aspects and continuities of the waysin which global forces constitute the individual identities.
