Alignment between the business (users, exeeutives) and inrormation teehnologies in various organisations is one or top management eoneerns today. The diseussion is based on MIS Triad model analysis and its extension refleeting the strategie issues or ITimplementations today. The understanding or ITs nature and perspectives should be an attribute or all three triaďs nodes representatives: users, executives and, or eourse, IT staff. In such a ease the hey question is to what degree the IT expertise should be shared by eaeh player. Corresponding hnowledge profiles and responsibilities ror users and exeeutives are defined. Speeifie attention is given to IS development (planning) process structure. The system analysis approaeh and the strategie managementone both offering the inrormation system development proeess structure are critically eompared rrom the perspeetive what new the strategie eoneeption (that is younger or eourse) brings.
