The structure of an organization affects the productivity of the organization and determines what roles and positions employees have. To determine the essence an organization, you must understand the characteristics of each type of organizational structure. A functional organization will be at one end of the use and a projectized organization will be at the other end. In the middle are organizations that have characteristics of both, it means matrix organizations. A functional structure is hierarchical.Projectized organizations are less common than functional organizations, but they are very suitable for project companies. An organizational structure that combines the advantages of the functional and projectized organizations and to minimize the disadvantages of both is called a matrix organization.
