Classification is a helpful way in order to discriminate a set of decision-making units (DMUs) on the basis of something that they have in common. By using classification can be found easily the features of each DMU. This study discusses a use of DEA–DA (Data Envelopment Analysis–Discriminant Analysis) to classify a set of DMUs in the view of GP (Goal Programming). This paper more clearly describes a new type of DA technique, or DEA-DA, that incorporates a methodological strength of DEA for overlap identification and classification of observations into two groups in the DA framework.
