DIGITAL COMPETENCES OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The competence of working with computer technology is crucial and its inclusion in the Framework Education Program (FEP) and School Education Program (SEP) is only natural. The content of the competence is simply the ability to use information technology for work. ICT knowledge and skills include basic control of the operating system, working with files, backup, sorting, basic knowledge of computer technology, creation of documents, protocols, etc. ICT competencies today of course include a wider range of knowledge and skills, but at the time when they have been defined, there has not been the rapid development in the field of Digitalization as we see today. The content of the term "digitalization" is far from being only about technology as a technical means (ICT); it is about the overall development and changes in the use of digital technologies (Industry 4.0), approach to work and new methods, perceptions of new societal values and fulfillment of personal life (Society 4.0 ) (Prouza, 2011). Digitalization fundamentally changes the culture and values of the new generation, creates conditions for a virtual environment, new interests, the nature of work. Terms such as cyber-physical models, digital twins, software platforms, neural networks, disruptive technologies, artificial intelligence, etc. are becoming a common part of the communication vocabulary in industry and services, and it is very important to set the right direction for educating secondary school students, especially in technical secondary schools and grammar schools. Students should already be prepared for the changes that are taking place in these areas of human activity. We looked into how secondary school students are doing in the field of digital competencies, and how much importance they attach to them in the current labor market, through research carried out through a special anonymous questionnaire published on the Internet. A by-product of the research is the self-reflection of secondary school students about the current level of their digital competencies and about the level they would like to achieve in digital competencies in the future.
