Approximately in the mid-20th century a certain group of linguists pointed out that the development of linguistics had gone down a blind alley. In order to achieve a solution to the ?crisis?, these scholars decided to search for common points between traditional Saussurean linguistics and other disciplines of science, though these close contact areas between linguistics on the one hand and either the humanities or natural sciences on the other hand there arose a number of peripheral disciplines. Being loyal to this heritage, we explore the relationship between traditional Chinese grammatology and Chinese language teaching. Chinese characters still remain a serious problem for a part of foreign students in the process of mastering modern Chines language. Various methods have been applied in this process in China and abroad, but the results are rather questionable: for a certain part of those students characters remain an incomprehensible complex of graphic components.
