This writing is based on the author's experience in the field of teaching Dutch as a Foreign Language in the Department of Dutch Studies at Palacký University Olomouc (the Czech Republic), which serves as the case study. The author suggests, that incorporating songs into foreign language classes is likely to make teachers’ and students’ respective work more effective and satisfying. This is closely related to the fact that the students design their own exercises with the use of Dutch songs. This considerably increases the overall attractiveness of his lessons. Apart from that, the advantages of the so-called “Computer Assisted Language Learning” (CALL) are being discussed. Additionally, this writing also highlights the benefits of participating in local and international educational projects.
