Die vorliegende Publikation beschäftigt sich mit der Entwicklung der Societas incognitorum eruditorum in terris austriacis (1746–1751) und der von ihr herausgegebenen Rezensionszeitschrift Ollmuetzer Monathliche Auszuege Alt, und neuer Gelehrten Sachen. Dabei wird einerseits die Geschichte ihres Entstehens beschrieben und ihre zentralen Akteure präsentiert und andererseits dargestellt, wie das Gelehrte Journal im Laufe seiner relativ kurzen Existenz thematisch gestaltet wurde. Die Aufschlüsselung und Kontextualisierung der Artikel gibt Einblick in die eindrucksvollen thematischen Verflechtungen dieses aufklärerischen, vom Freiherrn Joseph von Petrasch initiierten Projektes mit dem damaligen europäischen Wissensdiskurs und illustriert, wie das angeblich erste aufklärerische Journal in den österreichischen Ländern auch von Mähren aus seinen Beitrag zum Fortschritt der aufklärerischen Bildung im Habsburgerreich (und darüber hinaus) leisten konnte.

The monograph presents the development of the Societas incognitorum and its Learned Journal Ollmuetzer Monathliche Auszuege Alt, und neuer Gelehrten Sachen. Central topics are the history of the Learned Society in Olomouc, its member and the content and aims of its Journal. The themes of the scientific orientated periodical are shown in its European context and as a link to the European discourse of the age of Enlightenment. As a central figure for the movement in the Habsburg Monarchy appears baron Joseph of Petrasch. His interest and target was to propagandize the values of enlightened art and science in &quot;Austria&quot; and connect it to the European modernization in that areas.
