The 2024 conference theme “Technological turn in translator and interpreter training“ addressed the issues of educating and training translators/interpreters in the “Age of AI”. The addressed topics include: A competent translator in the age of AI, the role of AI in training: costs and benefits, shocks and shifts in the T&I market, aligning the use of T&I technologies in the classroom and in the field, leveraging the big data (LLMs, corpora, NMT), terminology management, fostering critical thinking in the times of AI.
