Der Beitrag befasst sich mit der Transformation literarischer Topoi in tschechischen Übersetzungen jiddischer Literatur in den 1960er Jahren. Anhand von zwei Fallanalysen – den Kurzgeschichten „Dos kranke yingele“ und „Der protses“ von Y. Finer in der Übersetzung von Hana Náglová – wird aufgezeigt, für welche Verschiebungen in der Erzählstruktur sich die Übersetzerin entschieden hat und was die möglichen Gründe für diese Entscheidungen gewesen sein könnten. Ziel des Beitrags ist es, zu untersuchen, inwieweit die von einer bestimmten Übersetzerin gewählten Strategien die Rezeption des Zieltextes beeinflussen können.

The paper focuses on the transformation of literary topoi in Czech translations of Yiddish literature in the period of the 1960s. On the basis of two case analyses – short stories ‚Dos kranke yingele‘ and ‚Der protses‘ by Y. Finer in the translation by Hana Náglová – it will be shown what shifts in the narrative structure the translator opted for and what could have been the possible reasons for these decisions. The aim of the paper is to investigate the extent to which the strategies chosen by one particular translator may guide the reception of the target text.
