School readiness in the Czech Republic in the context of research

Right before entering the school, a number of evolutionary changes take place in a child's organism. Most of them are crucial for handling the requirements of systematic education in entering the school. With regard to their dependence on the mechanismsof becoming mature and learning, they represent the base of the so-called child's readiness for starting school. Are children well prepared for the current school requirements? What could be improved in this context, for instance by means of pre-primaryeducation? What priorities can be defined in acting on child prior to their starting school? What provisions should be defined in association with growing school attendance postponements? Those and other questions we have been trying to answer by means of our research and our existing experience from practice, last but not least also based on the knowledge available in specialized literature.
