Digital learning objects as a support for new teaching methods
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The article is focused on the realization of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach in mathematics education in Czech schools through the use of Digital Learning Objects (DLO) e.g. digital animation, simulation or computer educational games. Even though the CLIL approach in the Czech schools is not massively implemented (6 % in the year 2008, in the year 2011 30 % of teachers who completed questionnaire of National Institute for Further Education), mathematics and science are the subjects with highest percentage of utilization of CLIL approach - 53 %. Actually in the sum of 25 % of Czech pupils rates CLIL approach as a benefit for mathematics and informatics education. Successful implementation of this approach needs a well educated teacher in several areas with various competences - content knowledge, language, methodology and at least basic principles of language education. Level of the educational technology skills is also the significant parameter for successful educational process appropriate to 21st century. These skills should be able to connect with the modern trends in motivating and constructivist teaching forms and methods, eg. inquiry-based education.
