Apollonius' Problem PPL and PPC at High School Using ICT
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This article focuses on two specific Apollonius’ problems PPL (two points and one line) and PPC (two points and one circle), which can be solved by high school students. Again, let's remember these interesting problems, because Apollonius' problems have always occupied a particularly important place among planimetric problems. Apollonius' problems are not standard problems in mathematics teaching in secondary education, but currently there is a trend to introduce some non-standard tasks into teaching and another important trend is the development of pupils' digital literacy. Within the project " Computer-Based Mathematics Teaching", we point out the possibilities of integrating non-standard problems into mathematics education, which are more difficult for students to solve, but with the help of ICT can be solved by these students. We point out not only the advantages of using ICT in solving mathematical problems, but also the current trend in mathematics education aimed at developing pupils' digital literacy in connection with the development of their mathematical literacy. In the project, we focused mainly on tools that are available online such as the Wolfram Cloud environment. Currently, tools of dynamic geometry e.g. GeoGebra are mainly used to solve geometric problems. These tools allow students to solve problem not only faster, more accurately, more clearly, but also expand their capabilities to solve more complex problems and take their education to the next level.
