Undergraduate Teacher Training for Working with a Dyslexic Pupil
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Primary school teachers encounter the issue of specific learning disorders to a greater or lesser extent throughout their entire teaching career. As part of undergraduate training at the Faculty of Education of the Palacký University Olomouc, students are introduced to this issue in several stages, both theoretically and practically, and thus prepared for the smooth performance of their future profession, which in today's era of integration tendencies includes, among other things, work with pupils, who are diagnosed with a specific learning disorder, specifically dyslexia, and are therefore part of regular classes in Czech schools. Therefore, a research study was carried out at the Faculty of Education of the Palacký University Olomouc, with the aim of assessing the degree of readiness of students for a dyslexic pupil and, based on the research study, to evaluate the contribution of theoretical and practical disciplines that are implemented during studies. A non-standard questionnaire instrument was used to carry out the research, which was presented to 120 students. The obtained data were then statistically evaluated and conclusions were drawn for possible innovations in study plans.
