Field exploration of existing XR learning media
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The present study explores the integration of XR (Extended Reality) learning media in European education, focusing on EU-level initiatives, national curricula, and case studies with respect to PAX partner fields of expertise with emphasis on education. XR technologies, which include Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR), offer immersive and interactive learning experiences that enhance spatial awareness, understanding of complex subjects, and student engagement. However, challenges such as device design, privacy, accessibility, and the need for pedagogical integration must be addressed. The research also includes a case study of the Czech Republic, detailing the use of XR technologies in various subjects at Elementary School Velehrad. The PAX project partner survey reveals that XR is used for teacher training, language education, fashion and design didactics, and materials management across selected European universities. Surveyed institutions are equipped with various XR devices, and funding is secured through budgets, government support, projects, and donations. While XR is mostly integrated into curricula through strategic frameworks and specific courses, there is a noted lack of didactic guidelines for XR, specifically in language education. Overall, XR technologies offer transformative learning experiences, but successful implementation requires addressing several challenges.
