We observed the content of essential oil in the drug of sweet flag coming from 13 localities in the Czech Republic. The amount of oils was higher in the spring crop (0,8-2,6%), than in autumn crop (1,0-1,8%). The amount of beta-asaron in the drug was 0,07-0,41% depending on the locality.
