Perception of Own Level of Information and Communication Competencies by Students of Teaching for Secondary Vocational Schools
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Among the most frequently highlighted key competences of teachers in the geographical area of the European Union are certainly foreign languages and information and communication competence (ICT). The change in the content of education, accompanied by widening demands and requirements on teachers' competences, is reflected in a multitude of scientific studies, research intentions and scientific literature by the European Union. It follows that ICT competence issues need to be addressed when preparing teachers in pregradual education. The aim of the contribution is to acquaint with the results of a survey focused at identifying ICT competences among students of a study programme aimed at preparing vocational teachers in secondary schools. The survey was conducted through a questionnaire survey and included, among other things, items focusing on ways of acquiring or continuously acquiring computer knowledge, skills and capabilities. More than two hundred respondents - future teachers - participated in the survey. Besides, the paper seeks to identify important aspects and to define appropriate measures, the implementation of which should lead to an increase in the ICT competences of future teachers.
