Influence of urea on sugar beet pulp silage quality
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The effect of urea additive to pressed sugar beet pulp ensilaged on the fermentation process was examined. In the ammonia-treated silage, insignificantly higher contents of dry matter and pH, but a significantly higher (by 36.6%) ammonia content were fouThe ammonia?treated silage contained statistically insignificantly (P? 0,05) lower contents of LA, as well of volatile fatty acids AA and PA, and a insignificantly higher (P?0,05) content of BA (31.86:28.08). The undesirable butyric acid (BA) constitutedand that of 46.82 % in the control silage. The ratio LA/VFA was very low (< 1) in both silage. The silage quality was evaluated to be unsatisfactory. In the ammonia?treated silage, a significantly higher content of crude protein (by 49.9%) and lower crudwere found as compared with control silage. In examination or urea effect on the acidification rate in sugar beet pulp ensilaged as compared with control variant, it was found that urea additive caused a delay of 12 days in pH value and t
