Impact of different calf production technologies on efficiency and health status of the animals
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
We evaluated three housing systems of calves with respect to their effect on production parameters, selected metabolic indicators and metabolic profile of ruminal fluid. Group n. 1 was fed by a milk substitute Lactina-Eurolac, starter and hay ad libitumsince 7 days of age. Diet of group n. 2 consisted of milk feed Laktosan and starter, hay was not included. Group n. 3 was fed by milk feed Laktosan 4 l/day, starter and hay ad libitum since 7 days of age. No significant differences in daily weight gain and negative impact on health was observed in calves from any studied breeding system during the period of 12 weeks. When evaluating daily weight gains in calves of 12 months of age, the highest daily weight gain (0,742 kg/hd/day) was established in group1. The value in group n. 2 was 0,703 kg/hd/day. The lowest daily weight gain was observed in group n. 3 (0,695 kg/hd/day). Differences between group n. 1 and group n. 2 as well as group n. 1 and group n. 3 were significant (p< 0,05 and p
