During the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2021), education had to be changed to online form, what was a challengenot only for the students, but also for the academic teachers. We present a comparison of the used methods andresults in distant teaching of Animal Physiology at two faculties of veterinary medicine: in Wrocław (Poland) andin Brno (Czech Republic). The teaching of Physiology at UP Wrocław in the pandemic time was conducted withZoom Meeting or Classroom with student in groups (of 11-12 ED students) in the schedule time. The materials forthe physiology course in the winter and summer semesters were attached on the Moodle platform. Students' accessto teaching materials on this platform was unlimited. Instead of practical part the didactical videos, photos anddiagrams were used. The Moodle platform and Zoom Meeting were applied for the partial exams. The form of theexams included tests and descriptive questions. The teaching of Physiology at VETUNI Brno during the distancelearning took place through Zoom Meetings with students in groups (of 13 students) and times according to theschedule. The practical part was replaced by photo documentation and discussion about pre-measured results. Thetest questions were in LMS Moodle and the students were connected to Zoom Meeting during the testing. Oralexams took place via Zoom Meeting. Success rate in credit tests and exams was not significantly affected byon-line teaching. The using of the various alternative online teaching methods by both faculties were comparable.Besides some changes in physiology teaching were definitely implemented in the post pandemic time as ProblemBased Learning (PBL) or Flipped Classroom. In summary, the pandemic period contributed to the search for somenew e-learning methods in the future.
