Ein natürlicher Bestandteil des Fremdsprachenstudiums ist traditionell auch die Gewinnung von Informationen über die Kultur des sprachlichen Zielöbereiches. Es kommt hierbei zu einer Erweiterung des Wissens und zum Vergleich der verschiedenen Kulturen und an Hand dessen kann man dann die eigene Kultur besser verstehen. das Verständnis der anderen Kulturen bringt uns unter anderen die Literatur einer konkreten Zivilisation nahe. Im Beitrag werden die Ergebnisse einer Studie über die Kentnisse der deutschen Literatur bei den tschechischen Studenten bearbeitet und an Hand dessen stellt sich die Autorin die Frage nach dem literarischen Minimum in einer konkreten Fremdsprache.

The chapter of the present monograph researches the use and function of literary texts in foreign language teaching. Author points out that every literary epoch was influenced by other European literatures, and as a result, it contains the interculůturallinks applicable in foreign language teaching. The benefit of such conception resides in the complex and interdisciplinary approach to the given issues, which is the study and analysis of textbooks from the point of history, literature, politics, linguodidactics and German studies. The author deals with - inter alia on the basis of a specific study - the knowledge of german literature by Czech students, and she focuses, to a large extent, on the literary aspect in language teaching.
