The text focuses on the comparison of the organizing principles of U3As, and deals with seniors' opinions concerning their studying in the U3A courses in foreign langueages. Teachers from the University of Hradec Králové and from the Technical Universityin Liberec (both having a long tradition in teaching foreign languages to seniors) created a questionnare distributed to seniors attending U3A courses in fereign languages. The aim of this survey was to find out which activities are the most attractiveand which ones are the most problematic for seniors being taught foreign languages.
