FINANCIAL LITERACY OF PUPILS WITH HEARING IMPAIREMENT
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The present paper introduces readers to the results of pupils with hearing impairment from 5th up to 9th class in the test of financial literacy. Research sample consists of 36 pupils with hearing loss higher than 61 dB. The respondents come from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary and participated in the 16th International competition that takes place every year in Slovakia. As far as research methods are concerned, we used didactical tests based on Czech national curriculum and modified tasks from PISA and TIMMS researches. As the results show, most pupils reached less than 50% success rate in Mathematical tasks with the focus on financial literacy and there exists medium correlation between the achieved level of Math skills and reading comprehension. However, the obtained data cannot be generalized, because similarly to intact population, hearing impaired pupils may have a developed logical-mathematical thinking and verbal thinking, which may appear separately or both together in one individual and affect his/her success in the area of financial literacy.
