The present paper offers the analysis of The Coming Storm, a performance by the renowned contemporary British experimental theatre Forced Entertainment via the thought of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. Forced Entertainment’s typical subversive elements of stage-failure, non-linearity and the erasure of the opposition between the real and the fictional are examined via the Deleuzoguattarian notions of rhizome, becoming, and deterritorialization. Such analysis rather than creating dichotomies accentuates the mutual interconnectedness, productivity and flux in the process of theatre-making as well as theatre-witnessing.
