The article is focused on the development of the number of people shopping on the Internet. Customer groups will be further analyzed in terms of age, gender and economic activity. The aim of the article is to confirm or refuse one hypothesis and answer three scientific questions. Hypothesis is that there is no gender difference in shopping on the Internet in the Czech Republic. Scientific questions are buying over the Internet grows in total over the past seven years. Young people (16–24years old) buy over the Internet more than the Czech population older than 55years. The most economically active group in online shopping is employed people. The hypothesis was confirmed in two analyzed years. One scientific question was positive, two were negative. Since 2014, there has been a decline in the number of students purchasing online. Gender shopping also changed trend in the last monitored period. Secondary data was used for the article.
