The synthesis of complexes, which can be used as model compounds for catalysis in fluorous biphase systems, is reported. Modified cyclopentadienes of general formula C5Me4H(CnF2n+1) (n = 3,5,7,9), and their complexes with rhodium in two oxidation states:[RhCl2(C5Me4(CnF2n+1))]2 and Rh(CO)2(C5Me4(CnF2n+1)) were prepared. The electronic properties of the ligands and partition coefficients of all compounds synthesised in the system perfluor(methylcyclohexane)-toluene are reported, as well as the structures of isomers of the ligand precursors and the crystal structure of complex [RhCl2(C5Me4(C8F17))]2.
