Paper presents an analysis and a form of defence of freedom of expression and academic freedom. First, I will conceptually define the topic of freedom of expression as well as present different perspectives on academic freedom. I will then discuss the key relationship between freedom of expression and academic freedom - to what extent they complement each other or, on the contrary, there are differences or even contradictions between them. Finally, I will attempt to answer the question of whether academic freedom entails more limited opportunities for expression than civil freedom of expression.
