Ethical AI in the healthcare
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The workshop aims to explore the impact of Artificial Intelligence-powered technologies in healthcare, with a focus on how they could affect patients’ autonomy. 3rd year undergraduate students, and postgraduate students from Nursing, Computer Science, and Philosophy will be invited to participate. Students will initially attend an introductory lecture on the topic and then presented with a case study for discussion in small groups. They will have to present their conclusion and engage in discussion and debate with other participants. The aim of this exploratory project is twofold. On one hand, we aim to explore and examine how students from different backgrounds can collaborate in a multidisciplinary set up to solve a realistic case at the intersection of their disciplines. On the other side, we believe that the workshop approach and its discussion-oriented character will shed light to new pathways guiding professional practice for healthcare professionals. As a result, the investigators, who will be mainly in charge to facilitate the discussion, expect to gather stimulating new ideas that can help them elaborate such ethical guidelines to be implemented in healthcare, e.g., code of conduct. The main outcome will be the publication of a (white)paper that will inform professional and legal bodies about different ethical considerations to be accounted for with the implementation of AI in healthcare.
