Der Workshop stellte sich die Frage, inwieweit ?Grenze(n)?nach dem Jahr 2000 weiterhin ein wichtiger Bestandteil des literarischen Diskurses in der deutschsprachigen Literatur sind, wie sie konzipiert werden und welche Konzepte ihrer Überschreitung durch Prosa und dramatische Werke angeboten werden. Des Weiteren wurde diskutiert, inwieweit die ?Grenze(n)? auchweiterhin eine Rolle in der Wahrnehmung von Europa als kulturelles und sozio-politisches Gebilde sowie in Bezug auf die damit eng zusammenhängende Konstruktion einer ?europäischen? Identität nach außen hin spielen, oder ob auch innerhalb von Europa ?(Binnen)Grenze(n)? zwischen Ost und West weiterbestehen und welche literarischen Konzepte zu deren Überwindung angeboten werden. Im Fokus standen prosaische und dramatische Werke der deutschen und österreichischen Gegenwartsliteratur, d.h. der Literatur von Staaten, die geographisch an der ehemaligen geopolitischen Grenze zwischen Ost und West liegen undzugleich Nachbarstaatender Tschechischen Republik sind. Damit war auch die Frage verbunden, inwieweit sich diese ?Grenze?im 21. Jahrhundert im tschechischen Umfeld widerspiegelt, bzw. ob und welche Rolle ?Grenze(n)?und ihre Überschreitungen beim gegenseitigen Literaturtransfer zwischen demdeutsch- und tschechischsprachigen Kulturraumspielen. Dies wurde insbesondere an den deutsch-tschechischen Theaterprojekten dargelegt und sichtbar gemacht.

The workshop asked to what extent „border(s)“ continue to be an important component of literary discourse in German-language literature after the year 2000, how they are conceived and which concepts of their transgression are offered by prose and dramatic works. Furthermore, it was discussed to what extent the „border(s)“ continue to play a role in the perception of Europe as a cultural and socio-political entity as well as in relation to the closely related construction of a „European“ identity towards the outside world, or whether „internal border(s)“ between East and West also continue to exist within Europe and which literary concepts are offered to overcome them. The focus was on prose and dramatic works of contemporary German and Austrian literature, i.e. the literature of countries that lie geographically on the former geopolitical border between East and West and are also neighbouring countries of the Czech Republic. This also raised the question of the extent to which this „border“ is reflected in the Czech environment in the 21st century, or whether and what role „border(s)“ and their transgressions play in the mutual transfer of literature between the German- and Czech-speaking cultural areas. This was demonstrated in particular in the German-Czech theatre projects.n
