Die übergeordnete Erzählung der tschechoslowakischen Emigration wird durch ihren historischen Kontext bestimmt – die Geschichte der kommunistischen Opposition und ihrer Verfolgung durch das Regime bildet den Rahmen, in dem die Emigration überwiegend erzählt wird. Infolgedessen ist die tschechische Gesellschaft der betreffenden Zeit in zwei Gruppen mit einem klaren Wertzeichen gespalten. Darüber hinaus werden genau die Teile der Geschichte, die die Gesellschaft verbinden würden, aus der Erzählung ausgelassen: die Geschichten der Kinder. Die vorliegende Studie reflektiert die Betrachtung der Emigration aus der Perspektive der Kinder, die aufgenommen und betreut wurden, vor dem Hintergrund der TraumaForschung und posttraumatischen Erzählungen.

The master narrative of the Czechoslovak emigration is determined by its historical context - the story of the communist opposition and its persecution by the regime forms the framework within which the emigration is predominantly narrated. As a consequence, Czech society of the period in question is divided into two groups with a clear value sign. Moreover, the very parts of the story that would link the society are dropped out of the narrative: the stories of the children and the hardships they were subjected to. The present study reflects on the reflection on emigration from the perspective of the children who were taken in and cared for, against the background of research on trauma and post-traumatic narratives. On the basis of selected works of so-called post-traumatic emigration, it attempts to answer the question of what literary practices and intertextual strategies are used to process the topic, and what images and stereotypes are associated with motherhood, parenthood and childhood in emigration.
