This contribution presents a methodology, which is based on merging information from observations and RCM and is used to produce a gridded parametric daily WG capable to generate realistic synthetic multivariate weather series for weather-ungauged locations. In this procedure, WG is calibrated with RCM-simulated multi-variate weather series in the first step, and then, in the second step, gridspecific WG parameters are de-biased by spatially interpolated correction factors defined by comparing WG parameters derived from gridded RCM weather series vs. spatially scarcer observations. The quality of the weather series produced by the resultant gridded WG will be assessed in terms of selected climatic characteristics, an emphasis will be put on characteristics related to variability and extremes of surface temperature and precipitation. The validation will be made for two regions: (a) Czech Republic, which represents the climate in the Central Europe, and (b) Sardinia, which represents the
