Influence of Roughness of Several Carbon Materials on their Biocompatibility
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The study is focused on the dependence of biocompatibility of carbon-based materials on their mechanical and chemical surface modifications1. In this study, we measured the changes of cell response on the roughness and wettability of the surface due to various surface preparation. The methods for layer preparation and treatment of individual surfaces used in this study suit to conditions for an appropriate and real model surface creation for purpose of hard tissue replacement simulation. From the measured results, it can be concluded that the cell adhesion to a surface seems to be more influenced by the surface morphology than by its chemical condition. All tested and evaluated materials (layers and C-C composite) are suitable for applications in engineering of hard tissue replacements.
