This contribution should have been bring the initial information about ANN, about their leading representatives, manner and form their applications, about advantages and disadvantages with which we must face up to their applications. Today, many professional software products concerning neural networks there have been already available. It is necessary to know when, where and how the ANN has to be used to produce of actual profit. We must to know their qualities and be able to turn profit their eligibilities. It is to be done as one's homework with a theoretical background and get up their use. This paper does not propose to describe all known paradigms today but only two representatives of them. They are MLNN with BPG algorithm and self-organizing neural network based on competitive learning.One of the possible applications which use the Kohonen SOM described in more details at the end. It is Supervised SOM, which is used for the children speech disorder analysis.
