Development of a sound recording system for audio cassette duplication on an industrial scale
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This paper describes design and implementation of digital sound recording system for audio cassette duplication. The duplication system is implemented in Zynq-7000 System on Chip (SoC) and uses principles of hardware-software co-design. The system is divided in two parts. The new system is designed on the basis of an analysis of old system based on ADIVAN DBL 2000 platform. An electronic board with digital-analog converters and analog filters, which was a part of the old system, is reused. The system has been designed and developed to satisfy all requirements to be used as a digital bin loop master (DBL) for duplication of stereophonic audio cassettes. Both sides of an audio cassette are recorded at the same time. The duplication speed is 64 times the regular audio playback speed. The software part of the DBL master loads input audio data and control parameters of the duplication and transfers them to the hardware part. It is implemented as a console application in C language, running on Xillinux operating system in processing system of Zynq-7000 SoC. Application control and audio data acquisition is executed from personal computer through Ethernet network. The hardware part of the duplication system is a digital design, providing audio data output with a precise timing, control of slave analog duplication device and is written in VHDL language. The design is implemented in FPGA programmable logic of Zynq-7000. The duplication system was tested using simulation and with logic analyzer and digital oscilloscope. Prototype of the system (on ZYBO Development Board) was given to the contractor for testing with real slave duplication device. The development is in stage of a functioning prototype and several issues need to be resolved before deployment for operation on an industrial scale.
