The subject of this paper is the description of the diploma thesisSafety Risks in Gliding Competitions, which focuses on the hazardsand risks that have the potential to endanger the safety of glidingcompetitions, and which are the cause of serious accidents andincidents during these competitions. The thesis focuses onimproving the safety culture of gliding competitions, increasing thesafety approach of the organizers and competitors and promotingthe positive development of the gliding sport. The outcomeof thethesis is a universal risk catalogue, which is designed for theofficials and competitors, in order to provide the guidance for theformation of the safe procedures and to achieve a high level ofsafety.
