Motivating people to change the mode of transport to public transport instead of using their own car is one of the most important parts of the way to accomplish the Green Deal 2050 challenge. On the example of Czech Republic where the number of passengers was rapidly rising in the pre-pandemic time, in most of the long-distance relations individual car transport still offers much more travel benefits than railway lines. How to strategically develop the railway infrastructure? Will the planned high-speed railways really be the appropriate solution to this problem in time? Will it satisfy all the different requirements of the passengers who are potentially able to move from car to train?
