In the last two decades in the Czech Republic we have noticed the big economical, social and cultural changes, which were reflected by spatial organization of society. The critique of residental suburbanism is already good known and enough examined. Themore actual topic seems to be the large-sized exploitation of landscape by commercial and shopping centres, retail parks, logistic and industrial areas, entertainment, solar factories etc. with related infrastructure in metropolitan regions. How is the life of people here? How they work, eat, travel, sleep there? Now we can see a big change in the look on this phenomenon. In today?s edge cities are accessible all services and there are more jobs than economically active inhabitants. These agglomerationsslowly leave off the dependence on city centres and begin to be absolutely self sufficient.
