Comparison of Reliability Levels Provided by the Eurocodes and Standards of the Republic of Belarus
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
A comparison of reliability levels of steel structures designed according to Eurocodes and standards of the Republic of Belarus is provided. The main differences between basic principles of the both standards with a particular focus on design of steel structures are shown. The main parameters characterizing load effects and resistances are compared at a general level. The probabilistic models of basic variables are adjusted to actual conditions of the Republic of Belarus. In a numerical example reliability of steel members is analysed for different combinations of permanent and variable actions. Standards of the Republic of Belarus lead to a lower reliability level than Eurocodes (reliability indices ranging from 2.0-3.5). The reason of this differenceis attributed to specification of design values of permanent and variable loads. For both systems of standards reliability of structures exposed to snow load is significantly lower than for those subjected to imposed load.
