This paper is focused on current state of the art in education of the interaction between a man and machine in assistive technologies and rehabilitation robotics. Presented here are in simple and feasible tasks based on structured lights with light spotsconfiguration sampled by the 2-D, alternatively 1-D CCD or PSD array for practical student's exercises in optoelectronic systems. Here are described principles of the activity of following devices: Head joystick based on a set of instructions derived from purposeful head movement; Automatic parking equipment for automatic return into parking position of the wheelchair; The range-incline tracer for the navigation of the wheelchair trajectory along the wall and for the collision avoidance of a wheelchair; The body motion joystick based on a set of instructions derived from purposeful body motion sampled by means of the six component force-torque transducer inserted between the saddle and the chassis of the wheelchair; Handy navigator for
