Characterization of Escherichia Coli Strains Isolated from Food
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The objective of this study was to determine current state of antibiotic resistance and the presence of virulence factors among a collection of 69 Escherichia coli strains isolated from retail meat in the Czech Republic. The incidence of antibiotic resistance, presence of 14 virulence factors and production of 23 colicins and 5 microcins were tested after classification into phylogenetic groups. The antimicrobial resistance of E. coli strains was detected by using disk diffusion test. The multiplex PCRmethod was used for determination of phylogenetic groups and single PCR method for bacteriocinotyping of producer strains and presence of virulence factors. In this study, almost 48 % of all E. coli strains were resistant to at east one of 8 tested antibiotics and 6% strains had a multidrug resistance. The higher rate of antibiotic resistance was to ampicillin and amoxicillin / clavulanic acid. More than half strains belonged to A phylogroup. The other strains were lassified into B2 and
