Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization of 2-Isopropenyl-2-oxazoline in Solution
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of 2-isopropenyl-2-oxazoline was optimized in solution in order to obtain polymer with well-defined molar mass and narrow dispersity. The polymerization procedure was thoroughly investigated by GPC and 1HNMR and optimized from the point of view type of initiator, ligand, copper catalyst and solvent. Finally, the poly(2-isopropenyl-2-oxazoline) (PIPOx) with controlled molar mass up to 20,000 g/mol and dispersity in the range of 1.2-1.5 was successfully prepared, while high conversions could be reached. Moreover, the SI-ATRP conditions were optimized to obtain graphene oxide hybrid particles with PIPOx shell of various molar masses of grafted polymer chains. The electrical conductivity of the hybrid particles in the range of 10-12 to 10-5 S.cm-1 were prepared. The cytotoxicity measurements pointed the material promising for biomedical applications. Moreover, the SI-ATRP under halogen exchange conditions provided magnetic core-shell particles based on CI and PIPOx shell with two various molar masses of the grafted PIPOx. Such hybrid particles were then dispersed in the phosphate buffer saline and glycerol to obtain the magnetorheological fluid with blood-like characteristics. Magnetorheological investigations proved that systems based on CI-PIPOx core-shell particles showed sufficient yield stress values to act as embolization agent. Thanks to non-toxicity the developed core-shell systems can be very promising for specific medical applications.
