This chapter deals with the relationship between the personality characteristics of students and their sociometric status in the classes of secondary technical school. Its main aim is to reveal whether the personality characteristics of students in lateadolescence affect their sociometric status from the point of view of influence and popularity. Also verified is how school competences (results and praise) affect sociometric status in connection with personality dimensions. Sociometric status (influence and popularity in the school class) was gained through the sociometric method SORAD and individual personality dimensions were measured by NEOPIR. Results of the research show that a higher degree of agreeableness affects the popularity of an individual in the class and the evaluation of schoolmates. A higher degree of extraversion increases authority in the class, while a higher degree of conscientiousness decreases it. Individual components of neuroticism also influence the degree of
