Archaeological Information System of the Czech Republic

Anotace anglicky

The AIS CR large research infrastructure is a platform whose design reflects and caters for the needs of contemporary archaeological research and serves as a gateway to archaeological heritage information for various other user groups. It provides a formal framework for the administration of fieldwork and at the same time, based on the variability of its tools, it can further structure the services, datasets or information provided according to user needs. The backbone tool of the infrastructure is the Archaeological Map of the Czech Republic (AMCR). One of the objectives of the current phase is to implement a completely upgraded AMCR solution and all its components, subsequent user training, promotion and dissemination of the new tools among different user groups. Following the completed digitisation from the previous project period, the processing of digitised archives, their publication and enrichment of the data content of the infrastructure, e.g. by linking existing data, will continue. There will be activities aimed at standardising the functioning of the infrastructure in preparation for the certification of AIS CR as a trusted repository, as well as targeted involvement in the implementation of EOSC in the Czech Republic. Attention will be paid to communication and education in the user community and strengthening national and international relations with authorities involved in archaeological data management. The project will educate and disseminate good practice in data management within the archaeological community, helping it to become more competitive in the digital era, both as individuals and as a field.
