Anotace anglicky

The aim of the project is to provide not only diagnostic tools, but also an effective interpretation based in particular on the analysis of genetic dispositions/polymorphisms and interactions between them, to divide patients into groups and subgroups according to the genetic profile found and from these results to determine the possible etiology of the disease with the definition of risk factors for specific individual patients and propose possible therapeutic recommendations by analyzing the obtained data. We are thus reaching the level of personalized and precise medicine. The presented plan aims to transfer these methods beyond the boundaries of laboratory research, i.e. directly into the center of clinical practice. We want to achieve this goal by combining the use of new biochip technology with the use of psychiatric genomics and proteomics together with advanced methods of processing large-scale data and integrating their outputs into a system for therapeutic decision-making in psychiatry. At the same time, this approach can mean a technological breakthrough in mental health care in our conditions. GEPROM will also use the existing extensive NUDZ database systems, which contain clinical, neuroimaging (repeated MRI examinations), genetic and neuroproteomic data from a total of 1,400 highly complex examinations obtained from patients with the most severe forms of mental illness. We will thus synergistically use one of the most extensive databases of this kind in the world, which was created under the roof of a cooperating organization.
