Gluten-free beer: a new chance for celiacs?
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Brewers make beer from malted barley and therefore, beer is excluded from the diet of celiacs. This assumes that beer has the potential to trigger the autoimmune response characteristics of the condition, however, there is no evidence to that effect. TheCzech Republic is the world?s number one beer nation with and annual consumption of almost 160 litres of beer per capita. Beer constitutes an important part of the diet for a significant section of the Czech population. It results in the fact, that manyadult celiacs, mainly men, are unhappy and feel a certain discomfort, because their favourite beer is forbidden for them. Several doctors allow their adult patients approximately one glass of beer a week, but one glass a week is not sufficient for the most adult patients. One drink labelled gluten-free beer based on buckwheat and millet is available on the market in the Czech Republic, whose price is unacceptable for the most patients. One of the possible solution is the brewing of glut
