La paráfrasis de una pregunta que plantea Miguel Ángel Vega en cuanto a la traducción responde a una preocupación constante del investigador homenajeado: el estudio del factor humano del proceso de la traducción. En una época en la que se destaca la importancia de las concepciones marginales y / o marginadas hasta hace poco, nuestra visión del problema pretende enfocar el tema del traductor-creador desde el punto de vista de la metodología praguense (Mukařovský, Levý), subrayando no sólo el proceso de traducción como una sucesión de decisiones por parte del traductor, sino también el papel que desempe?a la actividad traductora en la evolución del lenguaje del traductor-escritor, tomando como ejemplo el estudio del lenguaje de Karel Čapek.

A paraphrase of a question posed by M. A. V. regarding translation reflects his constant interest in studying the human factor in the translation process. At a time when theories which, until recently, were far from the centre of attention are now beingbrought into focus, the text concentrates on the issue of the translator as a creator from the viewpoint of the methodology of the Prague School. The emphasis is placed on the process of translation as a sequence of the translator's decisions, but also on the role of translation in the translator's own work as a writer. A study dealing with the language of Karel Čapek serves as an example.
